Online Adult Acting Classes

ActUpNorth Online was first launched in 2020 to facilitate the need to deliver all of our classes online during the pandemic. What quickly became apparent was the ability to adapt and deliver our detailed syllabus to meet the needs of those attending the classes online. The results were astounding with many of those attending deciding to continue their studies online and for the first time ever allowed students from all over the globe to join the ActUpNorth community. Over recent months we’ve been pleased to welcome students from as far and wide as Australia and the USA.

ActUpNorth Online offers a new, modern, and innovative approach to actor training. We’ve remoulded tired and worn actor training methods to deliver a truly unique and contemporary approach fit for the modern industry. All students follow a stringently devised curriculum and undergo regular observation and monitoring to ensure their continued progress and development.

Our online students loosely follow our ‘in the room’ syllabus which means they are also able to interact and share their experiences of class with all those who are studying with ActUpNorth. The online class has proved particularly popular for those that live further afield or their personal or work circumstances mean they are unable to attend one of our sites.

Our online classes cover a host of mediums and techniques, with a strong emphasis on ‘acting for camera’. The vast majority of sessions consist of working on TV scripts from productions that are currently being made or broadcast. Online students also get the valuable opportunity to work with a host of well-known, industry-leading casting directors, agents, directors, and producers. With geographical limitations removed we’re excited to be bringing some of the biggest names in the industry to work with our online students in the coming months.

Terms last for 12-16 weeks and are divided into three modules, each of which lasts for approximately four weeks. This means it is possible to join our programme at varying times throughout the year.

FEES: Classes are priced at £15 for 2 hours. This figure includes the cost of all additional guest tutor and professional practice classes. A fee of £60 is payable in advance every four weeks.

COMMITMENT: The minimum commitment to study with ActUpNorth is one term.

WHEN: If you are accepted onto our programme, you will be invited to attend 1 x 2-hour class each week. Class times vary throughout the week with some running weekdays 5pm-7pm or 7.30pm – 9.30pm.

WHERE: Our online classes take place on ‘Zoom’. Prior to attending the classes, you will need to have downloaded the ‘Zoom’ App and make sure you have a decent internet connection. We suggest using a laptop and web camera although you may also use your phone or tablet device.

SUCCESS: ActUpNorth students have achieved remarkable success at local, national and international levels. Students have recently appeared on programmes including…. Screw (Channel 4), Stay Close (Netflix), Bridgerton (Netflix), Line of Duty (BBC), Emmerdale (ITV), Coronation Street (ITV), Hollyoaks (Channel 4), Dr Who (BBC), Brassic (Sky), Tinstar (Sky), Life (BBC), and Cold Feet (ITV) to name but a few!

Students have also featured prominently in TV ad campaigns for global brands and appeared in award-winning theatre productions in both London’s West-End and the UK’s finest regional theatres.
